Historic attractions in Allan include the Bolin House and the Heritage Village, as well as the popular Allen Water Station Trail. The trail meanders past the old stone dam, pump, and water tower pipes, which used to supply water to the steam engines that plied the Houston and Texas Central railroad line.

An annual Allen highlight is the Tom Thumb Texas Stampede Cattle Drive, where the brave (and foolish) can run with the longhorn bulls!
